To disassemble unscrew the setscrew and pull off handle. Tighten the plastic adjusting ring inside the cap by turning it with a special flat adjusting tool-or fit tow screwdrivers into the slots and cross their blades to turn the ring. If your ball-style faucet with this type of cap is leaking from the spout, first try tightening the cap with channel pliers. Still leaking? Disassemble and replace worn/broken parts. Often you need to lift out the ball and replace the rubber seats and springs on both sides of the valve. If the faucet leaks around the spout, replace worn o-rings. Replace rotating ball only if clearly worn.
Some use strong magnets that do a good job to hold the wand in the dock. Others use a smart combination of weights, extremely precise docks and flexible hoses. Whatever the method used in the faucet to keep the spray wand in its place, it might be wise to consult the users′ feedback to see if there are problems with loose fit.
For modern faucets, the truth is quite opposite though. The touch function is reliable and under normal conditions always works as expected. These faucets cannot be activated by pets, and they are helpful for families with children.
It is quite obvious that the touch feature is powered by electricity. Sometimes people ask whether the faucets need to be connected to the mains. They think it might be dangerous. Others mistrust the very idea of electricity and water being together in a faucet. In fact, the touch sensitive faucets are powered by a set of four or six 1.5 V batteries. The voltage reached by such a pack does not exceed 9 volts, which is considered safe voltage even by the strictest regulations. The electricity, however weak, never comes in contact with water. In a typical touch sensitive faucet, water runs inside pipes made from non-conductive materials. So there is no threat whatsoever that could be attributed to the use of electricity in touch sensitive faucets.
