To disassemble unscrew the setscrew and pull off handle. Though these faucets are washerless, they do have inlet and outlet seals that may leak, or sediment may build up inside the inlets and cause leaks. After removing the escutcheon cap, lift out the cylinder and clean the neoprene seals and cylinder openings. Be sure the faucet is in the "open" position when replacing seals.
The cleverly engineered touch sensitivity system distinguishes between "touch" and "grip". When you tap it, your hand needs to be removed from the faucet within a fraction of a second. If the hand stays on the faucet, it is identified as a "grip", and the faucet does not respond. So it is practically impossible for pets to activate it.
There may be a number of well-grounded reasons for not having touch sensitive faucets in your kitchen. The most widespread one is by far the price that is much higher for touch faucets than for their non-sensitive versions. Some other reasons might be affection for traditional ways, firm determination not to spoil yourself and your family with too effortless ways or plain reluctance to mess with batteries when they need to be changed.
